NO Chapter Meeting next week, January 17, 2013.

Student leaders and Sponsor will be at the IGNITE Leadership Retreat.

ICCFS Tournament: Registration for our Colorado Springs Tournament is open! This is valuable for students 11+years old to be able to get feedback from community evaluators and other ICC parents.            • ALL YSG students should plan to participate.

            • All chapter parent should help by signing up as judges/evaluator for at least one event.

            • Siblings (9-10+yrs) can serve as timers during the same timeslot that parents judge.

• Invite family and friends to judge with you by copying this Judge Recruitment letter into an email.

            • Check out a copy of the schedule

            • Registration is $25 per student for speech events. $25 for debate (must complete YSG !).

            • Order lunch on Saturday or bring your own. Tracee is cookingJ

Flood the Five Conference: Mark your calendars for March 15-16 here in Colorado Springs at Front Range Alliance Church, 5210 Centennial Blvd.

There is so much members can experience at the conference that doesn’t happen in chapter – leadership training, community with other ICC families, peer mentoring, activities, simulations and Model UN. And it is also great training for parents so they’re better equipped to help their students. So, ALL chapter members should plan to attend, including parents.

• sample schedule here

• registration is opening soon ( Be sure to use your chapter member numbers for discount)

                        • 1-day - BPS ages 6-10 - $25

                        • 2-day - ages 11- 18 - $75 early bird/$90 regular

                        • parents are free with a paying student

Opportunities to Partner with the ICC Community:  To make our ICCFS Tournament and Flood the Five Conference successful, we need the help of our chapter families. Below is a list (with links) of opportunities to serve. Please prayerfully consider where you can partner with ICC to bring training to ICC students at the tournament and those in our community during our FTF Conference. If you have questions, please call or email me as soon as possible.  Yvonne.Hagood@gmail.com

Being a Judge or Evaluator at the Tournament – not experience necessary.

Providing Host Housing to Traveling Families – this is a great experience!

Helping with food please contact Yvonne. This is a team effort but we need someone to be the point person.

Friday, March 15, Lunch for staff

Friday, March 15, Snack table for community guests

Friday, March 15, dinner for conference attendees

Thank you to Tracee Lancaster for being the point person for our tournament meal.

Thank you to Ruthie Marquez for volunteering to be host housing coordinator for both the tournament and the FTF conference.

Community Platform: Coming in February so be thinking about which presentation you've already prepared that you could use to encourage ESL students. Thanks to Sarah Gonzalez for getting this set up.
